Dolphins in Connyland

lagune

Dolphins are messengers of the oceans, and they have a message for us: “Protect the ocean from pollution!” Let’s do our share in saving these mammals and protecting our oceans.

Dolphins are very friendly towards humans, which was already known in the Greek Mythology, where the singer Arion was rescued by a dolphin.

Some say that dolphins in captivity are deeply disturbed by the noise and light, which surrounds them. This is not true. In fact they are more likely to experience noise, vibrations, and danger in their natural environment than in the safety of a properly designed dolphin lagoon. In the open sea, they have to deal with 70 meter long dragnets and pollution inflicted on their natural habitat.

This habitat is destroyed by garbage, fertilizers, pesticides, and by industrial and car emissions. These agents cause the death of thousands of dolphins each year.

The chairperson of the Basel Zoo once said, “According to our experience, the living animal is the best endorsement for the protection and conservation of its species. Only people who have the opportunity to watch live, healthy and reproductive whales (marine mammals) closely and are given optimal information (like in a dolphin aquarium) are willing to give them all the love and protection they deserve.”

Can I bring my dog?

This is the most asked question in Connyland. Of course you may bring your dog, but please keep him on a leash.
